VEIN, VEIN GO AWAY

Nobody Wants Varicose Veins

Eugene, OR:
Twenty-five million Americans suffer from varicose veins. Millions more have "chronic veinous insufficiency", which leads to leg swelling and pain. Until now leg wraps and surgery were the only medical treatments for these conditions.

Studies conducted on thousands of European patients show that Horse Chestnut Seed Extract can shrink swollen veins, reduce leg swelling and prevent edema. Other symptoms investigated - tiredness, tension, leg swelling, itching and edema - either improved markedly or disappeared completely.

Like St. John's Wort, Horse Chestnut Seed Extract is prescribed by doctors to millions of European patients. "We expect the leg vein category to explode in the U.S.," says Quantum CEO David Shaw. "Good research, popularity in Europe and an aging population are all important predictive factors".

Horse has three major effects on the veinous system. First, it diminishes capillary permeability - reducing edema. Second, it constricts vein valves, allowing them to close completely and prevent the backward flow of blood. Third, it has general anti-edema properties and has been shown to decrease the formation of lymphatic as well as vascular edema.

Furthermore, valves in the veins can be easily damaged by free radicals. Therefore, antioxidants - particularly flavonoids and proanthocyanadins such as those found in grape seed extract - are vital to the maintenance of healthy veins. Many nutritional practitioners also recommend anti-inflammatory herbs for leg swelling and varicose veins. Among the most frequently recommended nutrients: bromelain, boswellia serata, and quercetin.
