Largest Trial of Vitamin E Shows Heart Health Benefit for Women

The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) said today it was encouraged by the results of a new study involving nearly 40,000 healthy women -- the longest and largest trial ever conducted on vitamin E -- that found that vitamin E significantly reduced the risk of death from cardiovascular disease -- the #1 killer of women in the United States. For women 65 and over, taking vitamin E supplements had an even greater positive effect.* Read more.

Saw palmetto, Nettle Root Supplement Helps Urinary Tract Problems
A saw palmetto and nettle root combination helps to treat urinary tract problems in older men, shows a new study. The herbal supplement has previously been shown to help with lower urinary tract symptoms caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a non-cancerous swelling of the prostate thought to affect more than half of all men over 50. In the new research, men who took the supplement for 24 weeks had a substantially higher reduction in symptoms than a placebo.* Read more.

Don't Mix DEET Mosquito Repellents With Sunblock
A study released last July from Canada's University of Manitoba warning against using DEET based mosquito repellents with sunblock caused the absorption rate of DEET into the skin to go from 9.6% to 30.2%. There is evidence that if sunblock and DEET are mixed there may be an increased risk for stroke, headache and hypertension. Children in particular are at risk. Read more.

Dear Quantum Health,

I simply cannot thank you enough. Put my testimonial up on your website, let me do a TV add for your product, anything you like....I just can't get over how your product has changed my life. I have been battling canker sores for years, ever since I was probably 7 years old. I am now 19 and I don't get them as much as some people I have read about, but when I do they are big and painful and always in the worst place. I recently purchased your product. After trying every product on the market I still was not satisfied. It always amazed me how everything else could be cured and fixed but scientists still didn't know how to cure canker sores. Possibly the best product to date to help people would be toothpaste without sodium laurel sulfate. I just figured nothing significant would come about to actually HEAL canker sores. As usual I was skeptical when seeing your product but i figured what do I have to lose....it happened to be quite affordable and worth a try. Let me tell you I was in shock after 5 minutes of getting the product. The postman delivered it and I happened to just have a canker sore develop in the past day and running out of my canker sore prevention toothpaste and having to use something with SLS. Needless to say, I opened the box, read the quick directions and applied the patch. Now, the canker sore was in the back of my mouth beneath my wisdom tooth. I figured this was about the oddest place and this patch will never stay there. After dealing with products that have a film and come off with minimal talking I was worried. I placed the cover on the canker sore and after maybe one minute I started talking and actually had food about 30 minutes later with NO PROBLEMS AT ALL!! Now it has been about 15 hours and the patch has dissolved and the canker sore is almost gone. I know this hasn't gotten to all the stores yet but when it does your company will be worth millions. What I like even more is that it is VERY affordable. I would EASILY pay upwards of $20 for the 6 patches alone after seeing what they have done. This product has truly changed my life and only being 19 I can finally look for something else to complain about. Once again feel free to use my as a testimonial anywhere....I would be more than happy...words can simply not express how I feel...If you get canker sores you will know exactly what I mean after trying this product.
