How To Avoid Cold and Flu
It's not a snap but it's not so hard, either. The key is to keep your immune system up to strength. Build your natural defenses and use common sense: regular exercise, nutritious foods, good sleep and keeping stress levels low can really make a difference.

Should you get a flu shot? Very recent research shows that the flu shot works only 28% of the time (get the facts here). And, the flu shot you can now purchase is in no way shape or form designed to protect you against bird or avian flu. They are completely different strains. (Read our bird flu fact sheet).

If you find yourself around people with a cold, wash your hands often. Colds are mostly transmitted when you touch a surface that's been sneezed on or someone's hand who's got a cold. Then you scratch your nose. Or pick up a sandwich. Be aware of your environment and you can stay out of a cold's way. The flu is more difficult as it is also transmitted through the air. Best bet here is immune building. If you've a somewhat compromised immune system, then extra supplementation may make the difference.

There are a number of supplements that will help enhance the immune strengthening process. Elderberry is particularly important in the fight against flu. Other supplements include echinacea, astragalus, olive leaf extract, vitamin C and zinc in lozenge form. Taking ginseng supplements through the winter also appears to help the immune system fight off colds, according to a new study. Researchers found that when people  took a standardized extract of the roots of North American ginseng, they had significantly less colds than a placebo group, and less severe symptoms. (Read  about the study here.)

Dear Friends:

When I first started taking Carb Trim my confidence was at an all-time low. I wondered if I'd ever have the willpower to lose the extra 30 lbs. I was carrying. I had tried everything, Weight Watchers, Calorie Counters, Scarsdale diet, Mayo clinic - I found the meals boring and impossible to stick to. The diets never worked for me. I am happy to say that after taking Carb Trim over a 6 week period, I have managed to lose a total of 19 lb. and I feel great. Imagine, I only have 11 more lbs. to go to reach my goal. I know as long as I take Carb Trim I will never have a weight problem again.
