Catch a Chill, Catch a
Cold?
Turns out your mom was right about
one more thing. Research at Cardiff University in
Britain has now proven that "catching a
chill" actually does help the common cold to develop. So bundle up! Quiz
Question: do you know the difference between a cold and a flu? If not, find our here.
Cold Weather Can Cause Cold
Sores
Approximately 80% of Americans
carry herpes simplex I, the virus that causes cold sores. Cold weather is
one of the most powerful triggers that cause cold sore outbreaks. "We
suspect that many people experience lower immune function during colder
weather, and that in turn gives the virus the opportunity to activate"
said Bruce Schennum, Educational Director for Quantum Health. Related
triggers include stress and lack of sleep. Regular use of the amino acid
L-lysine in either cream or tablet form can help boost immune support and
reduce the incidence of cold sore outbreaks. Read more about it.
More Vitamin D Can Help Lung
Health
Research shows that vitamin D may have a strong influence on
lung health, with greater levels of
vitamin D associated with greater and more positive effects on lung
function. Read the full story.
Magnesium Could Reduce
Osteoporosis
Increasing
magnesium intake could increase bone density in the elderly and reduce the
risk of osteoporosis, suggests a large American study. Read the full
story.
Letter to the
Editor
Dear Quantum
Health, Your Vegetarian Mega One Iron Free Vitamin is
wonderful. I have tried a few different supplements, but they have
not given me the overall benefits as this supplement has. I have
difficulty processing iron, so when I found this Mega Iron
Free Vitamin, I was ecstatic. My energy levels are consistent, I am
digesting food better, and have actually lost the desire to
snack in the middle of the day - no more crazy sugar cravings! Thank you
Quantum Health. M. Wina Los
