Migraines & Risk of Heart Disease

A new study has found that migraines with aura are associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Women age 45 years or older who experience migraines with aura have double the risk for heart attack, ischemic stroke, angina and death due to ischemic cardiovascular disease compared to women who do not report a migraine history, according to a study in the July 19, 2006 issue of JAMA.

Bug Repellent Clothing Stirs Controversy

Bug-repellent clothes, offered by a variety of manufacturers, work well but there are concerns about harm to humans. Paul McRandle, of the Green Guide stated that, "the Permethrin coating can come off and be absorbed by the skin. It can cause skin irritation and eye irritation. High does of Permethrin have also caused asthma and other effects." Permethrin is a popular pesticide and is also used in lice killing shampoos. The clothing is approved by the EPA and has not been associated with any ill effects. Read more on an alternative.

Dear Quantum,

I am writing about Canker Cover. I was at Walgreen's, saw your product and bought it. I get the worst canker sores from time to time, usually two or three and then none for a year or so. I don't know why I get them but they stay weeks on end and are so painful I can barely talk. At any rate I bought your product and I say BRAVO!!!!!  I have purchased Campophenique, Ambesol, Orajel, and many others for canker sores... they never help. God Bless you for creating this. I have to tell you I am so thankful and will be a die hard customer of your for life. AS SOON AS I put on the cover, I immediately felt relief. I am so happy and pain-free. Thank you!!!!!!
