DEET Insect Repellent And Sun Block Don't
Mix
A study from
Canada's
University of Manitoba warns against using DEET based
mosquito repellents with sun block. The study, by professor of pharmacy
Xiaochen Gu, found that when a 2.5-per-cent solution of insect-repelling
DEET was mixed with oxybenzone, a very common sun-blocking ingredient, the
amount of DEET absorbed into the skin went from 9.6 per cent to 30.2 per
cent. Read more

Cold Sores Can Cause Genital Herpes
Oral herpes, or cold sores as they are commonly
known, are contagious. Until recently, it has been believed that contact
with an open cold sore, say from kissing, would only pass to another's
mouth area. But recent studies suggest that cold sores can be transmitted
to the genital area through oral sex. Learn

Dear Quantum,
Your new web site design is great. I love the colors,
the layout and the ease with which I can now find products.

Dear
Quantum,
As a dental hygienist
I had been using the prescription products for cold sore relieve which
average $50 a tube. While on vacation without my prescription tube I tried
Lysine plus. I was amazed it worked better than the high priced
prescription for cold sores, less irritating to my lips, and a tiny
fraction of the cost. I have it posted on my wall at work and recommend it
to all my patient who ask for a prescription for cold sore relieve!
I look forward to trying all your other products.
Susan R.
